The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R\OCIA) is the process whereby adults and teenagers enter the Catholic Church. OCIA classes are held weekly. Over the course of several months, those who attend the OCIA classes are educated on what the Catholic Church believes and are given the opportunity to ask questions about those beliefs.
If you are curious about what Catholicism is, please feel free to come. All are welcome.
DO YOU OR DOES YOU KNOW…
- Do you have an interest in becoming Catholic?
- Do you have a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized?
- Were you baptized as a Catholic as a child, but have not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?
We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of the church, and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. There are separate sessions for children or youth.
Meetings begin in September, but clergy is available to discuss the Catholic Church, or your personal faith journey, year round by appointment. We invite anyone interested to call the office at 231-264-8087.
