The Finance Council serves as a consultative body to the Pastor, assisting him in the prudent stewardship of the parish’s temporal goods. In accordance with canon law and the policies of the Diocese of Gaylord, the council provides advice and expertise regarding parish finances, budgeting, long-range planning, facilities, and the responsible management of parish resources in support of the Church’s mission.
Members of the Finance Council are practicing Catholics who are committed to the life and mission of the Church and who possess experience or expertise in areas such as finance, accounting, business, law, administration, or related fields. Through their service, council members help ensure that the material resources entrusted to the parish are managed wisely, transparently, and in a manner that supports the pastoral priorities established by the Pastor.
