Ushers

Ushers constitute the second wave of Welcome that people receive as they gather together. The first wave is from the Greeters who say “Welcome,” as you also do, followed by “May I show you a seat?” The ushers have very active duties. Ushers greet, seat, take up the collection and keep a watchful eye on the congregation for emergencies. We offer first aid training to all ushers and training on use of the AED machine. We are in the process of updating a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that will outline suggested responses to situations that may arise. Every Mass has an usher captain assigned. The responsibility for the group falls on this person, this person should be trained in the special duties as captain. The liaisons to this ministry are Dan LeBlond and Toni Baker.
